Wine Stoppers

Wine Stoppers
Wine Stoppers

These are stainless steal wine stoppers with a blown glass top. The cobalt blue honeycomb pattern is intricate yet clean and accents any bottle of wine. It's important that stainless steal is used or else red wine will eventually eat through chrome plated stoppers. These stoppers are extremely durable and look great for all occasions! They also make great gifts!

Fall 2008

Hello everyone! Thanks to those of you who have been stopping by the site lately! Sorry there's been nothing new lately but I do have exciting news.

I have been living and working at a YMCA camp at the southern tip of the Puget Sound. The West Coast is amazing and I only wish I had more time to spend here.

The first weekend of October I took a two day class from John Kobuki. John is known around the world for his detailed floral marbles. I learned how to make colors fade in flower pedals, how to shape the pedals and most importantly how to keep them three dimensional.

Arts fest attracts big crowd

About 16,000 people on Sunday crowded Gregory Park for the 34th annual Arts in the Park festival featuring food, crafts and music.

The Best of Show award went to Duluth resident Dan Naf, who created a 2.5 inch, 2-3 pound glass galaxy marble. The piece took him more than three hours to make.

"It was wonderful surprise," Naf said of being named Best of Show. "I was excited to be juried in this art fair because it was juried on one piece of art work instead of full booth, so I specifically made a piece of art I'd never made before."

Artist Statement

As I learn more about the amazing world of glass each day, I am inspired to try new techniques and colors that constantly inspire me. I flame-work borosilicate glass starting with sized rods and tubes of different colors. Using a variety of techniques, I manipulate the glass into the desired shapes and designs.

Artist Biography

Born and raised in Northeastern Minnesota, Dan Neff has employed his talents in many ways from music to glassblowing. His undergraduate study based in Outdoor Education is a major culmination of Dan's passions. In the spring of 2003 Dan took a Community Education class on lampworking. Ever since, he's been hooked. He then began a 3 year apprenticeship program learning the basics of the craft. In a give and take relationship between school and glassblowing, Dan is always working on a project.
